Library Meeting & Classrooms

The Monroe Library has classrooms and meeting rooms that offer the latest in presentation technology. Any equipment not already installed may be reserved from Media Services and set up for you.

Library rooms are available only for Loyola University New Orleans faculty, staff, and students for special classes and meetings. Classrooms for regularly scheduled classes are reserved through the Office of Student Records. Please see our Student Use Policy for allowable activities in library rooms.

Reservation requests must be submitted at least two business days prior to the event.

If you have questions, contact Media Services at mediasrv@loyno.edu or 504-864-7120.

For further assistance with reserving a room, please contact Curry O'Day at jcoday@loyno.edu or 504-864-7170.

Our two multimedia classrooms are in the library's mezzanine: Multimedia Classroom 1 (ML 134 - 50 seats) and Multimedia Classroom 2 (ML 133 - 42 seats). Both rooms have a tiered-seating arrangement. Each seat has access to electric power and an ethernet port (in addition to wireless internet access).

Instructors can control the presentation equipment using the touch panel. The basic presentation equipment includes a high resolution projector, a desktop PC with Zoom installed, laptop inputs (VGA, audio, and HDMI), document camera, DVD player, VHS player, and podium microphone. These rooms are also equipped for HyFlex learning with two webcameras (one facing the presenter and one facing the seats), two monitors, ceiling microphones throughout the room, and a lapel microphone for the presenter. For more information on the HyFlex equipment, please visit our Campus Classrooms Equipment page.

Presentation instructions are available in the classrooms and accessible here: Multimedia Classroom 1, Multimedia Classroom 2. HyFlex instructions are also available in the classrooms and accessible here: HyFlex Instructions, Camera Instructions, Lapel Mic Instructions, HyFlex Tips and Troubleshooting. While this system is easy to learn and use, we recommend that all faculty and guest presenters be oriented to the equipment prior to using these classrooms. Please contact Media Services to set up a brief training session.
