Printing
Loyola University has provided 2 printers on campus that you can use to print from your laptop, mobile device or flash drive. The printers are interfaced with a system called PaperCut.
Your username for PaperCut is everything before the @ symbol of your Loyola email address. Your password is your Active Directory / Microsoft Password.
Note: If you have already changed your Microsoft password from the default, please use your current password. If you forgot your password or need to reset your it please go to office.com.
The printers are located in the following locations. There is no charge for printing to these printers.
1. The 1st floor of the Monroe Library 120 (near the lab computers and the old print room)
2. The 1st floor of the Monroe Library 136 (near the I.T. lab located in the wing of the building that opens near the circle.)
Once you're at the print station, you'll need to have the Mobility Print app on your mobile device (unless you're printing from a USB drive) and you'll need to have registered your Loyola ID card with the print system. Instructions on how to complete these steps can be found below.
You'll need to be on campus, connected to the Loyola wifi network, in order to register your device. Once you're connected, go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/setup to register your device with the print system. Your next steps will be different depending on your device:
- Android: Go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/known-hosts/android to install the Mobility Print app and follow its instructions.
- iOS: Using Safari, go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/ios/profile to download your Mobility Print profile. Install the profile using iOS Settings. Mobility Print stations will now show up in your list of printers.
- Windows laptop: Go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/known-hosts/windows to download and run the Mobility Print installer. Don't change the name of the installer, since it needs to communicate with Mobility Print.
- Mac: Go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/known-hosts/macos to download and run the Mobility Print installer. Don't change the name of the installer, since it needs to communicate with Mobility Print.
If you are asked for your name and password during the installation process, use your default Loyola login.
At any of the print stations on campus, swipe your ID card through the card reader. The printer will ask for your Papercut username and password, which matches your default Loyola Microsoft login credentials:
- Username: The username portion of your Loyola Gmail address (everything before the @)
- Password: Papercut requires your Loyola Microsoft (LORA Self Service) password. If you have not yet changed it, the default password is the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your last name, your birthdate, followed by uppercase LU (flmmddyyyyLU)
Once your ID is registered to the print system, you'll be able to simply swipe your card to release your print jobs on future visits. Make sure to log out when you're done!
- After sending a document to the print queue from your phone or laptop, visit one of the print release stations and swipe your ID card.
- You will see a list of print jobs waiting to be released; you can print all of them, or select individual jobs to print or delete.
