Printing

Beginning Fall 2020, Loyola University New Orleans has a new print system! There are now four print stations on campus, which can print free of charge in black and white from your laptop, mobile device, or flash drive using your campus ID or login. To get started, just visit one of the printers in four convenient locations:

  • Monroe Library 136, located in the entrance hall
  • Monroe Library Learning Commons, outside the old print room
  • Satchmo's Commuter Lounge, in the Danna Center basement
  • Monroe Hall, 1st floor near the service elevator

Once you're at the print station, you'll need to have the Mobility Print app on your mobile device (unless you're printing from a USB drive) and you'll need to have registered your Loyola ID card with the print system. Instructions on how to complete these steps can be found below.

You'll need to be on campus, connected to the Loyola wifi network, in order to register your device. Once you're connected, go to http://141.164.71.30:9163/setup to register your device with the print system. Your next steps will be different depending on your device:

If you are asked for your name and password during the installation process, use your default Loyola login.

At any of the print stations on campus, swipe your ID card through the card reader. The printer will ask for your Papercut username and password, which matches your default Loyola Microsoft login credentials:

  • Username: The username portion of your Loyola Gmail address (everything before the @)
  • Password: Papercut requires your Loyola Microsoft (LORA Self Service) password. If you have not yet changed it, the default password is the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your last name, your birthdate, followed by uppercase LU (flmmddyyyyLU)

Once your ID is registered to the print system, you'll be able to simply swipe your card to release your print jobs on future visits. Make sure to log out when you're done!

  • After sending a document to the print queue from your phone or laptop, visit one of the print release stations and swipe your ID card.
  • You will see a list of print jobs waiting to be released; you can print all of them, or select individual jobs to print or delete.
  • Make sure to log out when you're done!
  • Visit one of the print stations and swipe your ID card to access the machine.
  • Select "Device Functions" from the bottom left of the printer's touch screen.
  • Insert your USB drive in the USB port just below the touch screen.
  • Select "Print from USB Thumb Drive" on the right side of the screen.
  • Select the file you want to print from the list, then "Choose Print Settings" in the upper right corner of the screen. Select any settings you want and then touch "Start" in the bottom right of the screen.
  • Make sure to log out when you're done!
