Bio

Mare is the Digital Collections Archivist/Librarian. She is responsible for developing and maintaining digital collections in the Special Collections & Archives, providing reference and research support for the Special Collections & Archives, as well as serving as the liaison for the Art & Art History, Design, and Film departments.

Mare has experience processing and digitizing multimedia archival collections including photography, video, and film. Her research interests are centered on the colonial and post-colonial archives of Sudan and what is now South Sudan, documenting and preserving Indigenous African knowledge systems, and community-centered approaches to archives.
