Loan Periods

Checkout Guidelines

Loyola faculty may have up to 100 items checked out at any given time.

Loyola students, staff, and alumni may have up to 50 items checked out at any given time.

TU/LU, CALL, LALINC, Community Borrowers, and other patrons may have up to 25 items checked out at any given time.

The first table below lists the Monroe Library loan periods by material type. The second table lists the loan periods by borrower status.

Faculty 1 semester
Staff 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
Graduate students 6 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
Undergraduate students 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
TU/LU 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
Xavier 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
CALL, LALINC, & Passport 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer
Community Borrowers 3 weeks in fall and spring; 2 weeks in summer

Material Loan Period
Books 3 weeks
Videos 1 day - 1 week (faculty); 2 hours (in library use / students)
CDs, LPs, scores 3 weeks (limit 3)
Interlibrary loan materials varies
2 hour reserve 2 hours (limit 3)
overnight reserve 24 hours (limit 1)
3 day reserve 3 days (limit 1)
Group study room key 4 hours
Headphones 2 hours
iLok 4 hours
Laptop 4 hours
MIDI keyboard 4 hours
