Library Room Descriptions

There are many different types of rooms available for use at the Monroe Library by students, faculty, and staff.

  • Multimedia Classrooms
  • Multimedia classrooms feature tiered seating for 40 to 50 people, as well as a variety of presentation equipment and software.

  • Seminar Rooms
  • Seminar rooms feature seating for 15 to 24 people, with a variety of presentation equipment.

  • Library Living Room
  • The Living Room is a comfortable, relaxed setting that can be used for a variety of purposes, including meetings, group study, and practicing group presentations.

  • Library Instruction Classroom
  • The Library Instruction Classroom is a premier instructional space designed for collaborative learning, featuring 30 desktop computers and cutting edge presentation equipment.

  • Faculty Innovation Lab
  • The Faculty Innovation Lab is available for faculty and staff who are working on the production or enhancement of instructional materials, or faculty and staff looking to develop their technology skills.

  • Room 334 Conference Room
  • Room 334 features seating for 8 to 10 people, and is reserved for faculty and staff to hold meetings and video/web conferences.

  • Group Study Rooms

    (201-207, 228, 302-308, 320, 322, 323)

  • Group study rooms are private rooms located on the second and third floors. Rooms seat anywhere from two to six people and the loan period is four hours. Group study rooms are available to be checked out at the Learning Commons desk on a first come, first serve basis to currently enrolled students.

  • Collins C. Diboll Art Gallery
  • The Collins C. Diboll Art Gallery and Visual Arts Center is located on the 4th floor of the Monroe Library. The Gallery occupies the entire upper floor of the library and is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday.

University Spaces

  • Danna Center Rooms & Spaces
  • Through the Office of Co-Curricular Programs, you can reserve the following spaces: Danna Student Center Meeting Rooms, Residential Quad, Peace Quad, Banner Space (Danna Student Center), Table space (Danna Student Center), and Classrooms.

  • University Classrooms
  • Please note that library rooms are available only for Loyola University New Orleans faculty, staff, and students for special classes and meetings. Classrooms for regularly scheduled classes are reserved through the Office of Student Records.
