Fast Tracks

Our two multimedia classrooms are in the library’s mezzanine: Multimedia Classroom 1 (50 seats) and Multimedia Classroom 2 (42 seats). Both rooms are laid out in a tiered-seating arrangement to encourage class discussion. Each seat has access to an ethernet port and electric power.

At the heart of each room is the instructor's console, containing a variety of equipment for using technology while teaching. All media is projected onto a large screen through a ceiling-mounted projector. The instructor can control the equipment, room lights, and curtains via a touch-sensitive panel.

Installed equipment includes:

  • desktop computer
  • laptop inputs
  • VHS player
  • DVD player
  • CD player
  • document camera
  • A/V ports

While this system is easy to learn and use, we recommend that all faculty and presenters be trained prior to using these classrooms. Please contact Media Services at 504-864-7120 or mediasrv@loyno.edu to set up a brief training session.
