Services

Borrowing

The Monroe Library extends borrowing privileges to Loyola students, faculty, staff, and Loyola alumni. To borrow books and other library materials, individuals will need to stop by the Learning Commons desk and present a valid Loyola ID. We will issue you a library barcode number and a library PIN. The PIN will allow individuals to renew materials online, place holds and send requests. Alumni should present a valid state ID or driver’s license.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which books, articles and other materials not owned by Loyola University Libraries may be requested from other libraries or commercial document suppliers.

Library Instruction

The Teaching + Learning Team provides learner-centered research and technology instruction for students, faculty, and staff at Loyola University New Orleans.

Media Services

Media Services is responsible for instructional technology equipment throughout the campus. We design and support presentation systems in campus classrooms and library classrooms and meeting rooms.  Media Services provides support for computing, printing, and peripheral equipment throughout the library. We loan portable equipment, provide audio recordings for meetings, and do media duplications. We manage and provide training for Loyola's student response system, iClicker. We also provide videoconferencing services, and manage and support Adobe Connect web conferencing for teaching and communication.

Reserves

The library offers reserve services to and faculty to make supplemental course materials available to students in either physical or electronic format.

Distance Learning Services

Distance Library Services (DLS) provides the same services and materials to distance learners as on-campus students. DLS also works with faculty who teach distance students to promote and deliver library services. DLS primarily serves students enrolled in LIMEX and the School of Nursing's Distance Learning Programs; however, any Loyola student enrolled in an online class living outside the metro area can contact Distance Library Services for assistance.
