Fast Tracks

Two multimedia classrooms are available in the library mezzanine: Multimedia Classroom 1 (50 seats) and Multimedia Classroom 2 (42 seats). Both rooms are laid out in a tiered-seating arrangement to encourage class discussion. Each seat has access to an Internet connection and electric power, enabling students to use laptops in class.

At the heart of each room is the instructor's console, containing a variety of equipment for using technology while teaching. All media is projected onto a large screen through a ceiling-mounted data-video projector. A touch-sensitive control panel brings the equipment, as well as the room lights and curtains, into the hands of the instructor.

Permanently installed equipment includes:

  • desktop computer
  • VHS player
  • DVD player
  • CD player
  • document camera

The system also includes A/V connections so that laptops and additional A/V equipment can be used.

While this system is easy to learn and use, we recommend that all faculty and presenters be trained prior to using these classrooms. Please contact Media Services, 864-7120, to set up a brief training session.
