New Group Study Room Policy!
The study room policy at the Monroe Library is changing, effective with the start of the 2009 Fall semester (Monday, August 31st).
This semester, there will be 4 rooms reserved for GROUPS ONLY. Rooms 201, 202, 302, and 303 will be for use only by groups. All the other rooms can be checked out by single users. The rooms that are for groups only will identified as such (they will have a red tag). A GROUP is defined as more than 1 person and at least one person in your group must have a Loyola ID.
You can book study rooms in advance! Use this form to make your request.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES
The library offers 16 group study rooms for checkout to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. Each room offers wireless Internet access, a white board, and a TV and a DVD/VHS deck. Each room seats 4-6 around a table. Dry erase markers and erasers are available for checkout at the Learning Commons desk.
To check out a room, bring your valid Loyola ID to the Learning Commons desk. We will check out a key to you for four hours. Keys are to be returned on time to the desk.
Group study rooms will not be renewed during high-demand times, such as midterms and exams. *The two ID/group-use only policy, goes into effect during Finals.*
Group study users are responsible for the rooms. We ask that you leave the room in good condition. Please report any problems to the Learning Commons desk.
The library does not object to small food items as long as individuals remove their trash and do not leave a mess for the next group to use the room.
Please do not move the tables because they are wired. Moving the tables will cause problems for the next group.
Please report any problems to the Learning Commons desk. Call 864-7111.
These policies and procedures seek to ensure fair and equitable use of the group study rooms by Loyola students, faculty, and staff engaged in collaborative work and study. Rooms are available to currently enrolled Loyola students, faculty and staff throughout the year.
OVERDUE FINES
Users will be charged $0.50 every 15 minutes the key is overdue due with a maximum of $48.00 per day. In addition, there is a $35 replacement fee charged if a key is not returned.
