Tutorials & Handouts
The handouts and tutorials section contains guides created by our librarians to help you with specific topics. Our handouts and tutorials are divided into three categories.
- Subject-Specific handouts and tutorials will help you with research or assignments for a specific course.
- Research Basics handouts and tutorials will guide you through the research process.
- Technology handouts and tutorials will help you with specific software packages or direct you to technology resources.

- Ask A Librarian Live lets you log on to chat live with a librarian 24 hours a day, seven days a week!
- Faculty and Staff Directory: Connect with an expert.
- Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which books, articles and other materials not owned by Loyola University Libraries may be requested from other libraries or commercial document suppliers.
- Search + Find databases to find journals on a variety of subjects. You can browse databases by subject area, or view the entire A - Z listing of databases.
- Reserve Services: The library offers reserve services to students and faculty to make supplemental course materials available to students in either physical or electronic format.
- Streaming Media: The Monroe Library has acquired streaming rights to a number of video titles. Here you will find a list of videos that you can watch online through our website.
- Digitized materials from Loyola University New Orleans’ Special Collections and Archives are available in the LOUISiana Digital Library.
- The Monroe Library's Distance Library Services (DLS) provides the same services and materials to distance learners as on-campus students. DLS also works with faculty who teach distance students to promote and deliver library services. DLS primarily serves students enrolled in LIMEX and the School of Nursing's Distance Learning Programs; however, any Loyola student enrolled in an online class living outside the metro area can contact Distance Library Services for assistance.
