Student Groups' Use
The J. Edgar & Louise S. Monroe Library is a center for enhancing skills that are necessary for success in college and in life-long learning. The library’s facilities, collections, and services are designed to foster teaching and learning at Loyola.
Student groups who are interested in reserving library meeting rooms or classrooms for guest lectures, presentations, teleconferences or business meetings, may request a reservation through their faculty advisor.
Activities that involve recruitment, new member activities, or ceremonies of any kind are not permitted in the Monroe Library.
To request a room, the faculty advisor must complete a request form at Media Services or online on behalf of the group and have oversight of the group’s activities. The request will include:
- The name of the faculty advisor and contact information
- Name of the group
- The date and time of the event
Note: events must take place within the library’s hours of operation - Description of the event
- Number of attendees
- Any special requirements
Students are responsible for any damage to library furnishings or equipment.
The Diboll Gallery may be reserved for special events only with the approval of the Monroe Library and the Visual Arts Department. Groups using the Diboll Gallery will be responsible for any damage to artwork incurred during the time their event takes place.
The library reserves the right to monitor rooms during events.
