LibQUAL
The annual LibQUAL survey is a major assessment tool for the Monroe Library. The library conducted LibQUAL in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. LibQUAL is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act on users' opinions of service quality. It is sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries. The program's centerpiece is a rigorously tested Web-based survey bundled with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library. In addition, LibQUAL provides the library with comparable assessment information from peer institutions.
Each year, the library surveys all full-time, non-law faculty; all full time, non-law graduate students; and one in every three full-time undergraduates. LibQUAL provides respondents an opportunity to rate the library on Affect of Services, Information Control, and Library as Place, using 22 questions. A scale of 1 to 9 is used for each question. Respondents also have an opportunity to make written suggestions for improvements in services.
